Ill effects of firing crackers; Why should we educate children from a very young age
Firing crackers is the most common activity on Diwali, i.e., known as the “Event of light” Many Indian families do fire-cracking on Diwali to celebrate and show their happiness, but at the same time, it is dangerous too. Firing crackers has hazardous effects on the environment as well as humans and animals.
MADE EASY SCHOOL took this initiative to spread awareness about the fire cracking hazards and conducted seminars. These seminars focused on the significant disease and damage caused by firecrackers. Mostly, people gather around to see and enjoy the activity, including people of all ages. This is the most dangerous part of this activity as fire cracking may go wrong and cause unintended damage and loss. Through seminars MADE EASY SCHOOL aimed at educating children to stay away from such activity.
Some harmful effects of fire cracking include:
- Increased toxicity in the environment
- Air pollution
- Trigger lung disease
- Increased concentration of smoke in the environment leads to irritating respiratory tracts.
- The hearing problem in people as it produces a huge sound that measures up to 140 decibels, whereas the normal range of sound is 60 decibels supported by the human ear.
- Other dangerous respiratory diseases like Asthma, bronchitis, etc.
The effects, as mentioned earlier, can be fatal for many people who are allergic to smoke or have respiratory disorders. Firing crackers seems to be a fun activity, but it can also lead to health hazards. Not only Humans, but it can also affect stray animals. Children from a very young age need to be educated and made aware of the precautions to ensure safety for themselves and society.
Children should adopt other fun activities
Although it is challenging to keep children away from fire cracking, they are highly fascinated by fireworks in India. It is essential to teach children to adopt other fun activities rather than fire cracking. Children must be indulged in healthy activities such as playing outdoor games, story-telling, and competitions.
By limiting these activities
Recently, in different states of India, a ban was imposed on fire cracking, considering recent cases reported. It was also reported that Harmful fumes that come from firing crackers could lead to miscarriages, and therefore it was necessary to control the sale of fireworks. The Ministry of Women and Children has sent a request to the Ministry of the Environment and the Ministry of Forestry on the harmful effects of fireworks. The smoke from firecrackers can cause miscarriage, affect the growth of children and increase respiratory diseases in children and pregnant women. The report is submitted so that all departments can take necessary actions and measure to limit the production and sale of firecrackers.
MADE EASY SCHOOL takes this as its prime responsibility, to guide and teach students regarding the dangers of fire cracking. We believe, if we begin to teach our children from a very young age, they will develop into better adults in the future and will play their role towards society. Children must enjoy every festival in the best possible manner but ensure that no life or asset is in danger.
