A blog around bonding and making friends at foundational years

The social and psychological needs of some students have become a challenge. Online dating is not the same as old-fashioned socializing on campus. Even in the local half of mixed learning, masks and social distance can reduce the ability of elementary school students to make friends, which is important for children in pre-K through fifth grade. Some of the ways we help children feel “normal” are by having morning meetings with the children at home and face-to-face on Google Meet so they can see each other and share stories.

  1. Dance: Break the speaker and hold a dance party at a social distance or create a frost dance competition through digital platforms.
  2. Be a pen pal: Getting snail mail is thrilling, especially now! Preschoolers can create something to give to friends, whether it’s a piece of paper, a letter, or a homemade card using online mode.
  3. Arrange a deer hunt in the town: Prepare a checklist that your children and their friends can easily find around the town while keeping a distance from others. Preschoolers can share their experience on an online platform with others
  4. Hold a concert: Have all the kids in the neighborhood make music on the patio or driveway. Whatever tools they choose xylophones; empty containers that are barrels; recorder; you name it; it will definitely be fun to create a symphony of noise together.
  5. Play games: Just because your kids cannot meet friends face-to-face doesn’t mean games aren’t on the table. Video games might be your preliminary idea, but educational online games are also available! In addition, preschoolers can socially connect with each other while playing graphics, plays, or board games at home.
  6. Watching movies: Streaming service offers people in different places a way to watch movies “together”. Or your kids can chat with friends, watch the same movie, and stop and talk about their favorite things. Check out the Friday night pop!
  7. Put art in the window: Does your child have friends who live across the street – or far from your home? Take turns painting each other and hanging them on the windows, then go for a family walk or drive to explore the recent artwork.
  8. Eat: Snacks are forbidden in the same place, but who says you and your children cannot cook the same food as friends and eat them “together” on the screen? As summer draws to a close and the horizon is approaching, think of seasonal foods that are not too difficult to put collectively; ice cream, watermelon scraper, smoothies, fruit pizza, pumpkin muffins, apple slices, and caramel.
  9. Reading: Book clubs are not just for adults. Whether your preschooler is beginning to read chapter books or has turned to adolescence, you can synchronize what it is reading with its friends. When everyone has finished reading the book, they can meet online to discuss their thoughts and whether they have learned something new.
  10. Driving past: When you see friends on the screen, talking to them on the phone, or sending a message that does not work, drive past their house.
